Design For Her is a virtual design challenge celebrating International Women’s Day, open to all designers in tech to create impactful solutions that empower women through thoughtful design.

Powered by Floto, and IWD community collaboration with Women Techmakers, this challenge encourages designers to explore real-world problems aligned with one of the themes.

Challenge Themes

1. Support & Community

Design systems that help women connect, mentor each other, share skills, and build strong support networks.

Participants should think about how design can:

• Reduce isolation
• Enable peer learning
• Make mentorship accessible
• Turn informal networks into intentional systems

Participants may design:

• Mentorship platforms
• Skill-sharing ecosystems
• Peer learning systems
• Community onboarding experiences
• Collaboration tools
• Opportunity exchange network

2. Financial & Professional Growth

Create tools that help women grow financially, manage money, and access professional opportunities.

Participants should explore how design can:

• Simplify financial decisions
• Make income pathways visible
• Support entrepreneurship
• Enable career progression

Participants may design:

• Financial learning tools
• Budgeting systems
• Micro-saving platforms
• Income tracking solutions
• Freelance support tools
• Career pathway platforms
• Entrepreneurship starter kits

3. Safety & Wellbeing

Design solutions that improve everyday safety, emotional wellbeing, and shared care systems.

Participants should think beyond emergency solutions and explore:

• Preventative systems
• Shared care networks
• Everyday safety
• Emotional load sharing

Participants may design:

• Safe navigation tools
• Community reporting systems
• Support networks
• Emotional check-in platforms
• Shared caregiving planners
• Workplace wellbeing systems

1. Participants must RSVP on the Friends of Figma Pune event page before registering on the Designathon platform. Submissions from participants who have not RSVP'd will be considered invalid.

2. Participants must use Floto to create personas that represent their target users and conduct a feedback session addressing the problem they are designing for. The persona responses must be included as part of the submission file. Submissions without Floto persona feedback will be considered incomplete.

3. This Designathon is open to all designers globally. Individual participation only — team entries are not permitted.

4. The submission window is 8 March 2026 12:00 PM IST to 22 March 2026 12:00 PM IST. Submissions after this window will not be accepted.
   Each participant may submit one entry only, aligned to one chosen theme.

5. Submissions must include:

• A design solution aligned to the chosen theme
• A short concept note covering the problem addressed, target users, how it reflects the theme
• Floto's persona feedback placed inside as a frame
• AI usage (if any)
• A visual representation of the solution

6. All submissions must be original work. Previously published work is not permitted.
